Meet Mike Duffy
The first time anyone ever heard Mike Duffy sing in front of a live band,
he was just helping out by providing a guide vocal so the band could rehearse for an upcoming show. When he finished, the band director asked "Where did you come from?".
Next thing Mike knew, he was the featured singer for the jazz band on a tour of Mexico City and performances throughout Texas. Mike continued to perform in
various Texas Rock and Blues clubs, opening for Van Wilkes, Head East, Lou Ann Barton and Bachman Turner Overdrive.
Through the generosity of his brother Pat, Mike recorded his first record, "Whenever you're Ready". The session was produced and recorded
by one of the best sound engineers Texas ever had, Bert Frilot, and he received local airplay.
AS the youngest of six children, Mike grew up listening to everything from Bing Crosby to Grand Funk Railroad, th Mills Brothers to the Temptations. In 1987, he decided to
take those influences on the road. He continued to sing inchurch and in a local band. Through a mutual friend, Mike met a man he had "known" for about 20 years - The man
known as "the entertainer's entertainer", Dean Scott. Dean invited Mike to sing a couple of songs and afterwards asked him, "Why the heck are you in the fire department?".
He loves his job and he loves to entertain both, so he intends to do both as long as he can.
Come see Mike's impersonations of everyone from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to the Temptations.
