"This versatile and seasoned performer has packed a lot of business expertise into his 58 years. He began his
professional career at 15, when he first came to this country from his native England. His career
blossomed forth in earnest in 1967 when his million copy selling version of "Harlem Shuffle"
(later remade by the The Rolling Stones) topped the national charts."
"Dean's show not only includes an outstanding vocal performance, but comedy and impersonations as well.
Perhaps his greatest quality as an entertainer is his ability to size up an audience and give them
exactly what they want."
"He has played many of the top venues in the country and has shared the bill with such names as
Ray Charles, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Sam Cooke, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed, Ray Stevens, Trini Lopez and
Elvis Presley."
"Dean Scott is a total performer who has been blessed with that rare quality which few entertainers
can claim. He is rapidly proving himself worthy of of the confidence placed in him by such stars as
Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., two of the manuy individuals who have predicted eventual stardom
for this young man."
1996: The Taj Mahal - Atlantic City: "...who has over the years, not only in the showrooms of Vegas and points
farther but in guest spots on the TOnight Show, Ed Sullivan Show ...is a baritone with a zesty conviction of the he is
an entertainer first, singer second. Understandable for someone who draws the crowd into the show from start to end, doing
comedic turns and impersonations on a moments notice, but hard to accept for one who has a 4 and a half octive range and
flawlessly executes impersonations of all the classics from Tom Jones to Ray Charles ...not mention his own material."
1973: The Hollywood Reporter: Tuesday, September 4, 1973: Dean Scott @ The Playboy Club through Saturday
"...but the best time for your key card is found in the Living Room, a mammoth dining area which doubles
as a lounge, where Dean Scott runs through a talented, inventive oldies but goodies act which combines
music with flawless mimicry of the oldies stars right dowm to the dress. While Scott's show ran through
nearly twenty oldies stars, the routine was letter perfect."
1975: Variety Magazine:
"Partial viewing of Dean Scott in the Living Room at Playboy, Los Angeles, revealed a devastating
impersonation of Ray Charles, by a young, white singer. In an act built of music impersonations, his
Charles defied belief, so perfect was his phrasing and his voice. His full act is a must see, his black
impersonations ticklilng patrons of all hues."
1978: The Las Vegas Journal: The Flamingo Casino
"The 1950's Rock N Roll Review has left the Flamingo, and been replaced with a one man rock revival.
Dean Scott presents a capsule history of rock & roll every night in the Flamingo Casino Theatre by imitating
every star and every group you can name. Scott is rapidly aquiring a legion of admirers by virtue of
his beautiful singing voice and his top-notch carbons of Elvis, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash,
Little Richard and the Rightgeous Brothers. Last Sunday the Shirelles and Gary US Bonds joined Dean
onstage for a jam session that packed the room."
"Dean packed the Flamingo in Vegas in a recent appearance and the critics raved about his performance. Dean has
performed at most of the leading clubs in Las Vegas, as well as Hollywood, Los Angeles and Canada."
